Theology is for everyone!

Indeed, everyone needs to be a theologian. In reality, everyone is a theologian — of one sort or another. And therein lies the problem. There is nothing wrong with being an amateur theologian or a professional theologian, but there is everything wrong with being an ignorant or sloppy theologian.

About the Seminary

The purpose of the seminary is to prepare qualified ministers who have a solid knowledge of God's Word and are able to take responsibility in carrying out the great commission of Jesus Christ throughout Kyrgyzstan and beyond. The primary recruiting area was originally Bishkek and the surrounding region. With the opening of part-time learning and online forms of study, it became possible to educate students from all seven regions of Kyrgyzstan, as well as from other countries near and far. Since the foundation of UTS, students from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, China, and South Korea have studied at the seminary.

The seminary has set out to provide Bible-based, experiential learning programs designed to build personal and communicative skills so that astudents can realize their aspirations to become more effective leaders in society in the areas of pastoral ministry, spiritual education, social ministry, and missionary work.

The Seminary is non-denominational and is designed to serve any non-denominational and denominational churches which have the need and desire to cooperate and if they abide by the Bylaws and agree with the doctrine to which the Seminary adheres. The Seminary aims to teach each student the skills of careful exegetics and hermeneutics, which enables them to give a correct and balanced assessment of the understanding of God's truths.

The seminary has a fairly stable national leadership and a national faculty, along with representatives from other countries.

The governing body of the seminary is the Board of Trustees.

Our Creed
The UTS is committed to the fundamental truths of historic biblical Christianity:
  • There is one, eternal God-the Creator and Lord of the universe Who, in the unity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, rules over all things according to His will and fulfilling His purpose in the world and the church.
  • Holy Scripture, in its whole, is inspired by the Spirit of God through the human authors and constitutes the revelation of God's truth to mankind. It is completely true and trustworthy in all that it affirms. Everything the Bible teaches, when correctly interpreted, we are to believe and obey. It is our ultimate authority in every matter of faith and conduct.
  • All human beings are created in the likeness of God himself and therefore have intrinsic value and equality before God. Human sin and guilt, since the fall, has made us the object of God's wrath and condemnation and led to our estrangement from the godly life, suppression of God's truth, and hostility toward God's law. God's love wants all to repent and be reconciled and not be judged.
  • Salvation from the guilt, punishment and all other consequences of sin was realized only through what Jesus Christ accomplished-his perfect obedience, substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, and exaltation as Lord. Jesus alone is true God and true man, the only mediator between God and mankind. There is no salvation through any other person, belief, process, or power. Every sinner is justified before God and reconciled to God only through the divine grace found through faith in Jesus Christ.
  • The work of the Holy Spirit is essential to a person's new birth and growth in maturity. The Holy Spirit strengthens and continually resides in the church, ensuring its constant renewal in truth, wisdom, faith, holiness, love, service, power, and mission.
  • There is one, holy, universal, and apostolic church, which is the body of Christ and to which all true believers belong. The vocation of the church is to worship God forever and to serve God in the world.
  • There is one, holy, universal, and apostolic church, which is the body of Christ and to which all true believers belong. The vocation of the church is to worship God forever and to serve God in the world.
  • As the Father sent the Son out into the world, so the Lord Jesus Christ sends his church to participate in God's mission in word and deed. The church is called to: proclaim Christ; proclaim God's truth and the gospel of God's grace; nurture disciples in all nations; demonstrate God's character through responsive care for those in need; demonstrate the reality of God's kingdom through creative and sacrificial living, a community of love, seeking righteousness, justice and peace, and caring for God's creation.
  • As the Lord Jesus ascended to his Father, so will he return, personally, visibly, and in glory. He will raise the dead and bring salvation and judgment to their ultimate fulfilment. Then God will fully establish his kingdom and complete a new creation-a new heaven and a new earth in which there will be no place for evil and wickedness, no suffering and death, and in which God will be glorified forever.

A Message from the Rector
Dear Friends,

We live in a time when Christian literature is abundant. Such grace was not even dreamed of by our predecessors. There are tremendous opportunities for Bible study in this day and age. Now we can have entire libraries on the same phone. However, along with this amazing progress, another phenomenon is the widespread lack of interest in serious Christian study. There are very few Christian leaders and ministers today who are interested in serious and systematic training.

Perhaps most believers today are far removed from fundamental theological issues and are more interested in easy-to-understand, superficial doctrinal questions. How to live right, how to succeed, how to be a missionary, how to serve? This fact is shocking when considering how Christian education has been treated in the past. Similarly, it could be compared to a doctor suddenly giving up books on anatomy, physiology, and treating the sick with herbs and leeches only.

It is extremely important for the Christian minister to receive a comprehensive education because the responsibility of the minister is far greater than that of the physician. The doctor is responsible only for bodily ailments, while the minister is responsible for spiritual ailments that damage more important and profound elements in the human structure and have far-reaching consequences.

Our seminary provides basic training in Christian teaching and ministry, enabling it to acquire and maintain an objective view of the truth of God and to make the ministry more effective in perfecting the saints for the work of ministry.

God is worthy that we, on our part, try to use our best efforts to acquire as complete and accurate doctrine from the Bible as possible. We invite you to join us in taking a wonderful journey through the Word of God that will reveal the wonderful world and glory of God!

The UTS Library Book Collection

The seminary library provides readers with books, textbooks, periodicals, and other materials in Kyrgyz, Russian, English, and Korean.

Books are registered and catalogued in the UTS library, which helps in searching and finding books quickly.

The UTS library has more than 12,000 volumes. From time to time, the seminary organizes Bible Society exhibitions, presentations of new translations of the Bible or selected books of the Bible in which students and teachers are active participants.

The seminary acts as a customer for the books published and initiates translations of books into the Kyrgyz language. New books are regularly checked on publishers' websites, and the library receives newsletters with catalogues and flyers of new publications.
